Not All Veneers Are Created Equal

One reason Dr. Hawary has received awards for his cosmetic dental work is because of the process he goes through with each patient to make sure the end result will be amazing to both the patient and those with whom they share their smile. Here is a peek at what you can expect. Meet with Dr. Hawary for a Smile Analysis You will talk together about your smile goals and whether veneers are the right option for you.

• Customize your smile. As a patient of Dr. Hawary, you can customize your tooth length, width, size, color, translucency, texture, shape, and form with veneers. Veneers can be made to be as thin as a contact lens or thicker to conceal discoloration or other problems. Dr. Hawary will help guide you through the customization process and can show you before and after photos of patients who have had similar customizations.
• Prepare teeth for veneers. Each natural tooth that will receive a veneer will have a minimal amount of enamel removed so the veneers can both adhere permanently to the tooth and look like a natural part of your new smile.
• Take a test drive. Dr. Hawary will place temporary veneers on your teeth so you can check comfort and appearance. Adjustments can be made, if needed, during this step to ensure your new smile will be exactly as you want it to be.
• Receive your new smile! Once the permanent porcelain veneers crafted, Dr. Hawary will attach them to your natural teeth and adjust them for a perfect fit and even color.

Porcelain Veneers Procedure Process

At Dr. Hawary’s office, the process for getting porcelain veneers placed is typically done in two visits.

At the first visit, Dr. Hawary will take detailed photographs of your teeth, a smile analysis as well as a diagnostic wax-up will be done to design your new smile. During this initial consultation, we will assess all aspects of your smile to help determine the best treatment plan and to ensure that the most aesthetically pleasing result is achieved.

Your teeth will be cleaned, polished, and prepared for the new veneers. We will make an impression of the teeth and will send it out to the dental laboratory that will fabricate the veneers. It will take about 1 to 2 weeks for the veneers to return from the laboratory. Temporary veneers will be placed so you can experience them for a few days while the permanent ones are made.

At your second visit, Dr. Hawary will bond the permanent veneers to your teeth and adjust your bite to make sure everything is comfortable and looks beautiful. The veneers may be trimmed as needed in order to achieve the proper fit. The color can also be adjusted with the shade of cement used. Once the correct position is established, we will apply a special light beam which will cause the cement to cure. Once all the veneers are placed, any excess cement will be removed and any other final adjustments will be made.
